Description: The Pan-Canadian Education Indicators Program (PCEIP) draws from a wide variety of data sources to provide information on the school-age population, elementary, secondary and postsecondary education, transitions, and labour market outcomes.

PCEIP products include data tables, fact sheets, an interactive dashboard, a data explorer, and a handbook. They present indicators for all of Canada, the provinces, the territories, and include year over year comparisons.

The PCEIP is an ongoing initiative of the Canadian Education Statistics Council, a partnership between Statistics Canada and the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada that provides a set of statistical measures on education systems in Canada.

Description: Canada’s population growth, driven by changing levels of permanent residents and non-permanent residents, has contributed to notable demographic shifts. These changes may be placing new pressures on the education system, prompting a need to better understand how immigration trends could influence enrolment across all levels of schooling. In response, this paper examines projected changes in elementary and secondary school enrolment in Canada from 2026 to 2030, with a focus on the marginal impact of changes in immigration levels at the national and regional levels.

Description: Using a linked data file from the Integrated Criminal Court Survey and the Census of Population, this Juristat article presents information on the court outcomes of Indigenous accused and White accused in youth courts in Canada from 2016/2017 to 2022/2023. The analysis focuses on examining the disparities in court outcomes of these groups at the decision and sentencing stages of the court process using the Adjusted Relative Rate Index.

Description: Following the development of the not in employment, education or training, excluding short transitions (NEETEST) indicator, this study examines the socioeconomic determinants of NEETEST, as well as its long-term educational and labour market implications. Youth aged 20 to 29 years are classified as NEETEST or not in 2017 and are followed for five years thereafter (until 2022) to track their postsecondary enrolment, employment, self-employment and total earnings.

Description: This portrait focuses on the analysis of the sociodemographic and socioeconomic outcomes of Latin American populations in Canada. It uses data from the Census of Population (2001 to 2021), the 2011 National Household Survey, and the 2020 General Social Survey – Social Identity. An intersectional approach is applied to explore the relationships between multiple diversity factors, with the aim of providing a comprehensive overview of the diverse characteristics of Latin American populations living in Canada.
