Patients’ perceptions of non-urgent medical visits
By Philippe Finès
Person-centred care is a key component of health care quality, and patient perceptions are being increasingly used to evaluate it. Using data from the 2024 Survey on Health Care Access and Experiences – Primary and Specialist Care, this study examined perceptions (e.g., attitudes of the health care professional) of and experiences (e.g., satisfaction with wait time) with their primary health care services among adults who had had at least one medical visit for non-urgent primary care (in the year before the survey interview).
Evaluating national nitrogen dioxide exposure inequalities in Canada
by Elysia G. Fuller-Thomson, Mathieu Rouleau, Toyib Olaniyan and Amanda J. Pappin
Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is a traffic-related air pollutant harmful to human health. Studies in Canada have demonstrated associations between low socioeconomic status and NO2 exposure in several cities, but NO2 exposure inequalities have not been measured at the national level in Canada. This study uses socioeconomic status data from the 2021 Census and the Canadian Index of Multiple Deprivation (CIMD), linked with a national model of NO2 concentrations for 2019 at the dissemination area (DA) scale, to assess associations between area-level socioeconomic variables and NO2 exposure across all census metropolitan areas (CMAs).
