This subsector consists of all non-market producing institutional units operating as autonomous public health boards, social service organizations and community boards, and other health and social service organizations of provincial and territorial governments. Provincial and territorial governments are responsible for health and social services within their jurisdiction by legislative authority of the Constitution Acts of 1867 and 1982.
